IdeasBank is a different approach to the exploitation of ideas and concepts. Currently, the usual background to "protecting" an idea is either to attempt to Patent it, or to retain it as a "Trade Secret". Or, an idea can be openly described without any patent protection so that others can freely use it.

IdeasBank uses these standard approaches and also offers a new intermediate approach by which a share in the website display of an idea or "memon" can be bought from us.
Memons (ideas/concepts) on the IdeasBank Website were formerly classified into a number of groups according to their basis of offering. These groups were:
Green Memons - listed for the public good.
Red Memons - these were thought to be patentable ideas, and details were restricted. Currently all are available somewhere on the AOI master site without restriction.
Yellow Memons - these were intermediate between Green and Red, and often a particular application of a green memon. Three "Slots" were available for sale for each Yellow Memon, but currently all are available somewhere on the AOI master site without restriction.
